How does one write bio for someone who, in many circles, is regarded as one of
the Godfathers of punk rock? Whose band Rolling Stone once called “The missing link
between glam and punk rock?” Whose stage attire is ensconced in the Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall
of Fame?” Seems a bit superfluous, but here goes.

Before there was punk rock, there was HANDSOME DICK MANITOBA. He was
originally credited as The Dictator’s “Secret Weapon” on their debut album. That is until
management saw his undeniable stage presence and bombastic delivery.

Since their second album, “The Manifest Destiny,” and for over 40 years,
HANDSOME DICK MANITOBA was, and to fans always will be, the lead singer,
frontman, and the face of THE DICTATORS and DICTATORS, NYC.

He’s also been on the road singing with the Legendary MC5 and spent 14 years
doing his own radio program on Sirius XM satellite.

The Handsome One, while no longer a member of the new patchwork Dictators,
has put together a fantastic band featuring current and former members of Fear,
Streewalkin’ Cheetahs, Exodus, Jetty, Circus of Power and more. And he continues to
be the embodiment of New York City attitude, swagger and unapologetic personality.
